Traditionally, the Friday after Thanksgiving is called “Black Friday,” and is the biggest shopping day of the year, when all the major sales start. Of course, this year – “Black 2008” – the sales started VERY early, because of the bleak retail outlet due to the recession. However, if you feel that urge to shop in your bones today because – TODAY’S THE DAY – then Fashionrules can tell you where there are major DEALS still to be had!!H LORENZO OUTLET – Behind the H. Lorenzo store at Sunset Plaza, just east of LaCienega near H&M, is a pop up store in a big plastic tent, filled with deals of 60% to 80% off. Just because the tent is a little makeshift, don’t be afraid of it. It’s filled with Rick Owens, Haider Ackerman leather leggings, Ann Demuelemeester skirts, dresses and jackets, Sharon Wachoub jackets from Paris, killer boots by Commes des Garcons and many others, and handbags. There are great deals for men, too. The store is open from ten am to 7 pm at night, and Lorenzo himself is hanging out, bringing out killer finds that you won’t believe the price on. This is like the Price is Right for fashion fiends!!!
MARC JACOBS ON MELROSE – is 70% off! All of fall – all the shoes! The boots! You can’t touch that!
SAKS FIFTH AVENUE ON WILSHIRE – is 70% off! Saks was the first store to go seventy off on many designer goods, and the rest of them will be marked to this amazing price on Friday. Get ready to brave the crowds, though.
BARNEYS – is 50% off, which doesn’t sound killer compared to Saks, but remember – they have all THE DRIES VAN NOTEN COLLECTION. His fall collection was his greatest ever, so don’t miss this. If you wait till further markdowns, you may miss those beautiful printed chiffon pieces.
THEODORE IN MALIBU AND IN BEVERLY HILLS – this store, which carries Ann Demuelemeester, Haider Ackerman, Gaultier and many other great brands, may still be only at 40% off – but they carry jackets, pants and leggings that nobody else has. Worth paying a little extra.
HAPPY SHOPPING ON SALE FROM FASHIONRULES!!!
MAXFIELDS IN MALIBU???
Oct10
John Varvatos just opened there. Missoni is about to open there. Retailers from all over the world have gotten really smart about the fact that residents of Malibu probably have lots of money – whether they spend weekends or all week there – they SPEND. So instead of waiting for them to come to stores, they are bringing the stores to THEM. Now, Tommy Perse of Maxfield’s on Melrose, one of L.A.’s greatest stores, is opening in Malibu in the next few months. Now, do people wear Yohji and Commes des Garcons in Malibu??? We thought they just wore Juicy Couture Well, we bet they start pairing their Juicy with cashmere sweaters and Yohji or Rick Owens jackets. Heck, there isn’t much to do in The Bu in the winter – but now residents can add SUPER SHOPPING to the list. Sure, Theodore and Planet Blue carry some good chic brands (Marni, Anna Sui, Ann Demuelemeister, Gaultier), but nobody does like Maxfield’s. Get ready for a black out on Malibu Beach!! And get ready to see Victoria Beckham in The Bu – whether it’s Malibu, or Nobu Mailbu.
