If you haven’t noticed, it’s Golden Globe fever frenzy out there! Horns honking, cars screeching to stops all over L.A. – blame on Golden Globe gridlock. We just ran into three stylists in five minutes at the Regent Beverly Wilshire, on a hunt for jewelry – and In Style and the Diamond information Group held their annual GG Diamond lunch today at the Beverly Hills Hotel. (More on that later.) We saw trays of shoes going to rooms at various hotels today (meaning actresses were awaiting them), parties are cropping up all weekend long.

The Golden Globe nominations were announced at 5:40 am from Hollywood, and didn’t nomination reader Diane Kruger from “Inglorious Basterds” look great in her little tweed Chanel jacket? According to today’s L.A. Times, Patrick Goldstein’s column, Ricky Gervais has been signed to host The Golden Globe Awards on January 17th 2010 on NBC. This is a very big deal for the Globes, as Gervais is an international comic star, and he’ll bring some interesting British smart-ass humor to the affair. He’s also a star of movies – which may not be huge box office commodities – but they’re still being made. And The Golden Globes haven’t had a host since 1995. This can’t help but boost the ratings.
