Versace Spring Summer Collection Shopping Event

One great economic indicator for us fashion types is how many in-store shopping “parties” are being held these days – with requisite champagne and bites – and discounts, of course, It’s all about getting the warm bodies in the stores – with their credit cards, of course. Versace does not normally do shopping events, but they’ve engaged the services of L.A. based society pr man Patrick Herning to hold one for them on April 15th – tax day! – at the Beverly Hills boutique at 248 North Rodeo (and Wilshire). From 7:30PM to 9:30PM that night, there will be a “VIP discount on selected items” – hmmmmm – we’re not quite sure what that means. But what we DO know is that Donatella Versace’s spring 09 collection is all on the short and chic side, in colors of solid black, solid white, and a buttercup yellow. Also on hand will be superstar race car drivers Dario Franchitti (husband of Ashley Judd – perhaps Ms. Judd will turn up too), and Ian Daly, on behalf of Lamborghini, who are launching an accessory collection with Versace. And even if you’re not shopping, it’s always fun to see a collection close up.
