Dana Davis Pop Up Store

Tomorrow night, Nov 12, L.A.’s own Dana Davis will host a party for her pop up shoe store on Melrose Place, where Lambertson Truex used to be. We looked up Dana’s shoes, which are sold all over the country and on her website www.danadavis.com, and we found them to be surprisingly chic, mostly low heeled (yay! novel these days), and all about comfort meeting style. There is comfort technology built into the shoes, but that doesn’t make them ortho or anything heavy or clunky or old fashioned. There are all kinds of styles, but they all look pretty and feminine, without being hard to walk in. Great for working women! And they are all priced from about $350 to $450, very affordable compared to the European brands. But there’s the extra added Beverly Hills royalty benefit. Dana is the daughter of Barbara and the late Marvin Davis. She grew up in Aspen and Beverly Hills, and even though her website is very professional (and you can shop for shoes on it, too), her opening night cocktail party will feature a lot of the celebretatious folks she and her family know: Jerry Bruckheimer, Clive Davis, Melanie Griffiths, Angelica Huston, Arnold Koppelson, Anika Poitier, Sydney Poitier, Ed Ruscha, Jamie Tisch, Wolfgang Puck, decorator Windsor Smith and Martin Lawrence Bullard. And one of our favorite people in the world, Peter Bacanovic, who’s worked with Fred Leighton jewelry, is advising the brand – so there’s no lack of talent or high profile business savvy here. Here are a few of the pairs we like.
