We knew one of our favorite NY designers, Norma Kamali, only sold her clothes at her famed store on 56th St. in NY – and her famous bathing suits at Bergdorf Goodman. She simply makes the best bathing suits on the market – they have fitted bras in them, fabulous fabric, are ruched to flatter all bodies, and even come with matching skirts (for discreet butt and thigh hiding), longer bottoms – or can be cut quite high, for the younger, more muscular cellulite-free set. She has also done a line of lower priced sportswear for the Spiegal catalogue and website.
But her best-priced clothes are in Wal Mart! You can buy a blouse for $15, or a skirt or dress for $20 – that’s insane. If you don’t want to go into a Wal Mart – and we don’t blame you – check out @ walmart.com. But here’s the REALLY big news – Kamali will do a bathing suit line for Wal Mart that will arrive in June. For about $20 bucks, you can own a Norma Kamali bathing suit – the regular prices are at least $300 and up.
And these suits actually make your bust and butt look better. A twenty buck bathing suit might NOT cut it in St. Tropez – but it will definitely work for Malibu and the Hamptons, and your backyard pool.
