Most of the major “swag suite” action for awards shows – suites where companies use gifting as branding, giving out handbags, sunglasses, beauty products, and even conduct beauty treatments – usually hover around Oscar week, the last week of February. But they aren’t exclusive to the Oscars – usually some crop up for the Golden Globes. Since HBO isn’t involved in the Oscars but are HEAVILY involved with the Globes – with nominations for its shows “Entourage,” “In Treatment,” and “True Blood” and its movies “Bernard and Doris,” “Recount” and “John Adams.” The superstar cable network will host the HBO Luxury Lounge suite this Thursday and Friday at the Four Seasons on Doheny in Beverly Hills, with beauty treatments like mani-pedi’s and facials, and gifts of Rebecca Minkoff bags, Tacori diamonds, Duch Bicycle bikes, and fine jewelry from Italian companies Ferarri and Garvelli. BUT – you can be sure these treats will be reserved for nominees like Susan Sarandon, Laura Linney, Laura Dern, Anna Pacquin, Kevin Spacey, Adrian Grenier and Ralph Fiennes. We’ve also heard the Aussie dudes from “Flight of the Conchords,” which is coming back to HBO for its second season, will be on hand, too. And who wouldn’t show up to be photographed for ten minutes when they’re going to be handed all this free stuff?
