Well, NY fashion week is over – Victoria Beckham showed a collection of tight over the knee sheath dresses that were whispered to be designed by her pal Roland Mouret – and the “Roland Mouret look” – the tight sheath over the knee, with some interesting neck detail and a thin belt – is the look of the fall. But Mouret’s dresses cost thousands, and so do the Dior, Lanvin, Givenchy and Marc Jacobs styles that are similar. Posh’s posh collection runs about a grand a dress, too. However, if you’ve been doing your power pilates, and are dying to slither into one of these body conscious looks, the “similar styles” by a company called Black Halo are sold in Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Satine Boutique – and their websites. And they cost a very welcoming and skinny four hundred dollars and less. And you can barely tell the difference, as long as you keep your spanx on. This season, the best Black Halo looks are in plum, grey, a one shoulder style, and the “classic cowlneck” is super chic and even – dare we say:? – posh.
