Yes, kids, it’s ANOTHER new L.A. boutique, but it’s an all new look from an all-new designer. The name of the store is Kao Pao Shu, which, I have to admit, when I got the invite in the mail, does sound like a Chinese restaurant. Trust me, it’s not. It’s a new boutique from Bosnian designer Naida Begeta. Begeta made a name for herself in her native Bosnia creating fabrics and designs out of stripes of ribbons. This creates interesting textures in her clothes, which are both curvy and avante-garde.The opening night party is August 14th, and after that, check out anytime the jackets, dresses, skirts, pants – and fabulous ribbon handbags. The whole experience is like walking into a store on Wooster Street in Soho, or on West Broadway in Tribeca. The location is 7227 Beverly Blvd , between Alta Vista and Formosa, next to India’s Oven restaurant. And you may just want to go back an hour after your first visit. Merle Ginsberg
